Kirkus Reviews
"Klakowicz packs her debut with sound effects, giving it strong read-aloud potential. ... On the page, emphasized words are variously colored and capitalized, curving around and mimicking the truck’s kineticism. ... Lively, vigorous, and well suited to kids who adore cool moms and their vehicles."

Preschool Teacher Review
"My preschool class loved it! I teach a class with 10 students who are 2-3 years old and they loved it. It kept their attention with all of the onomatopoeia and bright illustrations... It was great to see geography introduced too to a younger age group. We have several students who really connect with anything that has wheels so they especially enjoyed it! I’ll be including this in my regular curriculum... my students’ reaction really was a testament to the appeal of this book for preschool /early elementary children."

"A must read for all kids: Mommy’s Big Red Monster Truck, is a kid’s onomatopoeic masterpiece. The book roars, splashes, and wow-wees from start to finish in a melodic, poetic rhythm. I loved riding along with Mommy (and her son) tracing with my finger my journey on the road past landmarks and sites. Any kid would love this adventurous and action filled book. Thank you, Alison, for sharing this happy book with kids around the world."
"My three year old grandson has always loved trucks of all shapes and sizes. He went to a monster truck show when he was two and could name so many of the trucks he saw. When I saw the title of this book I knew he would enjoy it and I was certainly correct. He loved the adventures of the mom and her son as they traveled to various places. He exclaimed “Golden Gate Bridge “ as he is a San Francisco boy. The sounds are fun at this age ( especially the way this granny says them ) and I anticipate the places traveled will mean more as he ages."
